Because of the break-neck rate of change, significant things are occurring within the tech world! In this article we'll take a look at these:

- Verizon's repeal of its $2 convenience fee

- The next generation iPads

- LG's introduction of an Intel-Powered smartphone

- Verizon's response to recent 4G issues

- Sirius XM's release of Lynx Radio

- Shifts in smartphone marketshare

Verizon drops $2 fee for online payments: Customers abhorred the idea of having to pay a premium for performing online payments and pressured Verizon to drop the fee. Verizon responded relatively swiftly and abandoned the fee altogether.

Next Generation iPads: Suspected to have a smaller screen, a stronger battery, an A6 processor, and a lower price in order to compete with Amazon's Kindle Fire. The speculated two new iPads to be released are assumed to be announced in January at the Macworld/liWorld conference in San Francisco.

LG to introduce Intel-powered smartphone: LG could be releasing an Intel-powered smartphone at the upcoming CES. Although LG has collaborated with Intel in the past, none of the phones have made it to the market. This speculated release would be the first Android smartphone that is Intel-powered.

Verizon's fix to their recent 4G issues: Verizon recently acknowledged problems occurring within their 4G network, but say that there has been 99% availability on the year. They plan to make important changes within their network, such as separating parts of their network so problems in a specified area won't spread and cause issues elsewhere. The statements made were vague, and no apology was made to their users.

Sirius XM Releases Lynx Radio: Sirius XM is set to release the Lynx Radio that enables users to pause, rewind, and fast forward songs. Additionally, it is said to be able to store 200 hours of programming. The price tag comes in at $250, and there is currently no set release date.

Smartphone Market Share: Since August of 2011, both Apple and Google have increased their marketshare, while RIMM displays their lack of popularity amongst users with yet another decrease in their total marketshare.
